Assignment
Our assignment was to create a desktop application, as well as a mobile application, that could be utilized by public safety professionals for situational awareness. The solution would need to be tailored to integrate various sources of data to provide a complete operational picture. Users needed to have various access levels depending upon rank and could perform various tasks within the system. The system integrated GIS components to ensure consistent mapping and location services.
Approach
Our approach was to participate in a comprehensive discovery phase where our team worked very closely with all levels of the agency to understand their goals, needs, and requirements. The next phase was an iterative development process where components of the system were developed, tested, and deployed. Our team worked hand in hand with the agency to ensure all features met their requirements and functioned as expected. Each aspect of the system was customized to match the agency’s mission, goals, and strategic vision for improving public safety in the community.
Results
The result is a solution that was the first of its kind in the industry. The solution was designed and developed in conjunction with the public safety community. Each implementation is unique, and the solution can be tailored to fit any agency’s needs.
